Lunch Reflection

Deans

Yesenia Molina & Greg Tavoularis

Problem Identified: Students lacked motivation to restore their SWIPS.

Hypothesis: If students engage in peer reflection to target specific behaviors then students are able to restore SWIPS as measured by the student’s individual SWIP Count.

Data Collection:

Actionable Step: Sharing with students why they lost a SWIP since they don’t have access to the explanation online.

Overall Findings/Impact:

  • Students were engaged during shared videos and prompt questions.

  • Students tried their best to behave and be positively engaged during lunch reflection to restore SWIPS for out of uniform & lateness.

  • Students shared that they need breaks during double period.

  • Challenges:

-The dynamics of the group at times made the conversation difficult to stay on track.

-Room/Spacing was an issue with Fab lab using the room on Wednesday’s.

-Students lack motivation to want to earn out of lunch reflection due to cold weather, need to create more PBIS rewards for students to want to maintain a certain # of SWIPs.
