Hypothesis: IF students are provided with ongoing opportunities to access and review procedural checklists, video tutorials and guided skill demos (either as Hard Copies or via Google Classroom Links/posts)...THEN...The amount of class time needed to demo and review skills/techniques needed to complete assignment/task will decrease significantly...BY...empowering students to "self-direct" their progress/process toward completion, understanding and mastery of tasks

Data Collection: Kept track routinely of the number of students who would ask for help WITH Google classroom being used as opposed to when/if it was NOT.

Was your hypothesis successful? Yes & no. (Size of classes/INTENSIVES proved difficult in many cases due to the following: a. student transitions went BEYOND the “scheduled” transition time (students were entering room at different times, causing distractions to those who were in class ON TIME, provisions needed to made for certain 6th grade classes who o met with me during FIRST period class (*laptop/tech. is NOT distributed during these times/class periods).

Overall Outcome: The overall outcome proved that the implementation of Google classroom as a tool for giving instructions and assignments to students to enable them to work/proceed at their OWN pace(s) was successful. Given the sizes of the classes I chose to monitor and gather data from (all were comprised of NO LESS than 29/30 students, there was still some change and a dramatic decrease in the number of times I needed to repeat instructions. The introduction of Google classroom to our Daily routine also

Actionable Step: By simply using Google Classroom as a platform to deliver assignments, tutorials, worksheets, emailing and so on.

In conclusion:

I intend on continuing to utilize Google Classroom throughout the year with ALL grades, as it HAS decreased the frequency of repeating directions, waiting for students to be Actively listening/engaged, rather than simply posting the assignment(s), lecturing, handing out instruction sheets and reviewing as a WHOLE group. The advantages are that ALL students (as was hoped for) can direct their own progress/pace.
